Over time you’ll get run down, and until you address the source of your problem, you won’t be able to feel well again.

The events in your life contribute to the amount of stress you feel, but it is your body’s energy that enables you to manage that stress in a healthy way. When you really feel as though you’re drowning in feelings of anxiety and exasperation, it’s a sign that the energy in your body – at one of your seven chakra sites – is imbalanced, closed, or weak. You won’t be able to fully de-stress until you identify the site of this deficiency. Five-Minute Reiki Meditation Exercise!

If you have a chakra imbalance, you can jump start the healing process by starting to work with your energy. Try the following exercise in order to make this method work for you!

First, prepare your environment. Find a quiet place where you won’t be disturbed. Try to make your space as soothing as possible: light candles, play relaxing music, or surround yourself with objects that bring you comfort. When you’re ready to begin, sit cross-legged on the floor and straighten your spine. As you inhale, feel your chest rising. Watch your chest fall as you exhale. After a few more breaths, let your breathing fall into an elongated rhythm. Now, focus on clearing your mind of thoughts, worries, and distractions. Forget about whatever happened today, yesterday, one month ago, one year ago. Forget about what will happen tomorrow, the next day, the next month, or the next year. Let yourself be entirely present. When you feel as though your mind is clear, focus on the site of your chakra imbalance. Lay your hands two inches above particular spot, and let them be still. Without moving your hands, allow yourself to feel the energy emanating from that particular source. Let the vibrations fall in tune with your breath. Repeat this exercise until you feel your body feels relaxed and your mind feels calm.
